“You’re going to hear the passion in my voice, because I have been in the trenches”

“Black people are angry, but it’s the understanding of where the anger is coming from, why they are angry”

“I think we need to change it from black people are angry, to black people are tired. They are tired of being overlooked, constantly seeing their people on t.v being murdered”

“A 13 year old is already saying she has to change who she is around certain people so that they don’t get offended”

“We should be who we are, everywhere we go…unapologetically”

“I have had my full first government name turned into the N word, a racial slur, just like that”

“A surfboard is not going to help us… can we loot some grants”

“It all starts at grassroots level, this is a grassroots level issue, PERIOD”

“All lives matter, we know that… we knew that when we became people instead of property”

“When you say someone’s name, you acknowledge that being, you acknowledge their presence… call these people by their full government name because you need to know that you took away someone’s mother, son, father, daughter”

“It’s very clear cut, how you are supposed to move through your use of force model, from communication tactics, to actual use of force”

“Don’t say you don’t see color, are you a dog? You see color, you see the difference, you may not acknowledge it, but that is your privilege showing”

“She puts her photo on her resume because she is tired of feeling that rejection, this is dental hygiene in 2020”

“I think if people would just have the racism conversation, this would not be happening”

“Support the mission objectives of black or minority based organizations”

“I need for there to be more dentists, assistants, hygienists that are people of color working in public health”

“Do what’s in your heart, don’t do it just because you think you should be doing it, try to understand why you should be doing it”
